另外，在直接引述消息來源時也常用「…quoted + 消息來源 + as saying」(主動語態)，或用「消息來源 + was/ were quoted as saying」(被動語態)為固定套語，如下例:

間接引述 (indirect quotations)
n 間接引述無需對消息來源的言論原文照錄，而是作一種概括性的摘要，寫作上也不用加上引號。通常用動詞said, added, announced, declared, explained, pointed out, reported等或介系詞according to來表明是誰提供的資訊，如下例:
